Monkey in the Metal is seeking an experienced professional to oversee commercial interior construction and custom fabrication projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both leadership and hands-on work, and who takes pride in delivering detailed, high-quality results in unique environments.

We specialize in custom-built features for commercial spaces including offices, restaurants, and multi-use developments. Our work blends craftsmanship with design, and we are looking for someone who can help bring complex concepts to life on site.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations on commercial interior job sites
  • Coordinate crews, subcontractors, and project timelines
  • Collaborate with designers and project partners to execute project plans
  • Review drawings and specifications to ensure accurate implementation
  • Oversee installation of custom-built components including wood and metal features
  • Maintain safe, clean, and organized job sites
  • Address on-site challenges and provide clear communication to stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction
  • At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Strong understanding of interior construction processes and sequencing
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings
  • Experience with custom millwork or fabrication is an asset
  • Comfortable working with tools and participating in field work when needed
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
